QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Silence and modesty are very valuable equalities in conversation.
---Michel D. Montaigne

When things go wrong
BE AWARE OF MYTHS
It is wrong to believe that there are unlimited opportunities, though, many a time, many may knock at your door.
Life is not a bed of roses as certain types of literature and some modern psychologists may have us believe. In this context it may be noted that the assertion that all our actions are friendly fails scrutiny. Similarly, a project that may appear good and attractive may in reality have major drawbacks.
One mustn’t bite off more than one can chew. This truth is well-grounded at all levels of life: familial, social and economic.
You are exposed to numerous allurements by way of advertisements in the visual as well as printed media and through verbal communication. It is wise and necessary to assess your potentials, aptitudes, skills and talents. You must analyse processes and procedures of action in the light of the goals to be accomplished.
“Don’t hesitate to enlist aid to achieve what you seek to accomplish. The glory of achievement, in no respect, is reduced because it required help from others. Success is rarely accomplished without assistance somewhere along the way” (Melvin Powers).
All in all, ‘discernment’ makes for the exercise of honesty in terms of critical thinking and deliberate action. It provides for insight into problems, brings about clarity and helps develop an open mind.
